The two numbers, and why they don't match
Every model runs this sum in her head eventually, usually around the second week, usually after a night that felt busy and landed at 340 tokens. Every regular tipper runs the other half of it the first time he watches a bundle evaporate in twenty minutes. They are the same transaction seen from opposite ends, and the two figures are genuinely different.
On the model's side, it is simple and it is fixed. Chaturbate pays $0.05 per token. Not a range, not a rate you can negotiate, not something that improves once you get popular. The same nickel whether you are on page one or page nine. That is why the calculator above shows it as a locked value rather than a field — there is nothing to tune.
On the tipper's side it is a range, because tokens are only sold in bundles and the per-token price falls as the bundle grows. Buy the smallest and you are paying about eleven cents a token. Buy a thousand at once and it is closer to eight. That spread is the only lever a tipper actually has.
What a tip is really worth to the person receiving it
Here is the part that surprises people on both sides. Chaturbate assigns a token a face value of roughly ten cents and pays the model five of them. So a 500-token tip is $25 to her, and somewhere between $40 and $55 to the person who sent it, depending on which bundle it came out of.
The corollary matters more than the arithmetic: buying a bigger bundle does not make your tip worth more to her. It only makes it cheaper for you. A hundred tokens is five dollars in her balance whether you paid $10.99 or $8.00 for them. If you tip regularly, buying in larger bundles is straightforwardly better for your wallet and completely neutral for hers.
And from the model's side, the same fact cuts the other way: there is no such thing as a more valuable tipper token-for-token. A whale who buys thousand-packs and someone who bought the minimum are worth identical amounts per token to you. What separates them is volume and how often they come back, not their bundle size.
The $50 a model has to clear
Chaturbate does not pay out below $50, which at five cents a token is 1,000 tokens in a pay period. The progress bar in the model panel exists for exactly that reason, because the difference between $47 and $52 at the end of a period is the difference between money now and money in a fortnight.
Pay periods run roughly twice a month, and payment lands some days after each one closes. Individual payout methods carry their own minimums — a cheque or a crypto transfer does not behave like a direct deposit. I am not going to list those, because they change and I could not verify a current list from Chaturbate directly. Your payout page has the real one and it is the only version that counts.
If a period ends short of the minimum, the usual behaviour is that the balance rolls forward rather than vanishing. Worth confirming rather than assuming.
Pricing a private show without guessing
Private shows are priced per minute, in tokens. Spying on a private is priced separately, also per minute, and a fan club membership is its own token price on top. Three different levers, and models routinely set all three by copying whoever they last saw online.
There is a better way, and it takes a minute. Decide the hourly figure you would genuinely be happy to be on camera for. Convert it to tokens at five cents each. Divide by sixty. That is your floor, and the private show box does the arithmetic for you.
Then go and look at what rooms in your category are charging right now — the live rooms tonight at your hour, not what a blog claimed the average was. If every comparable room sits well below your floor, the honest read is usually that the room needs to be bigger before that rate holds, not that your floor was wrong.
The number this calculator cannot tell you
Tokens per hour is a function of two things: how many people are in the room, and how many of them care. This page only helps with the arithmetic once the tokens already exist.
A room on page nine with four viewers and a room on page two with forty are not running different tip menus. They are running different levels of visibility, and no amount of re-pricing a private show fixes the first case. If your token maths keeps coming out depressing, the problem is usually upstream of the rate — which is what the ranking factors piece is about, and why viewer count on its own is such a misleading thing to chase.
And if you are running these numbers because a service quoted you a percentage, run that sum too. A cut of 30% means you keep 70, so your gross has to climb about 43% before you are merely level with where you started.
